By Ms. Lakeya Stukes

NEWBURGH – NFA West started its W.E.S.T (We Encourage Student Talent) University and Virtual Internship program with its guest speaker Wednesday series. This program invites various speakers to share their personal journeys, career pathways and a motivational talk. NFA West invited Big Picture Learning School Design Coach, Dr. Danique Dolly to speak with the scholars. He spoke about the importance of drive and using challenges to motivate success. Dr. Dolly talked about his journey from the Bronx, NY to graduating from Harvard University where he earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership. He shared artifacts about his life and the importance of writing to express feelings and set goals.

NFA West will have a different guest speaker every week to help students explore college and career options. This program will also support the virtual internship program this school year. As a Big Picture Learning School, NFA West prides itself on providing scholars with a holistic experience that includes academic, college, career and social emotional support.
