Rotary Coat Drives Benefit Those in Need

GOSHEN – Both the Rotary Club of Goshen and the Rotary Club of Warwick selected Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster to be the beneficiary of their winter coat drives this year. The Clubs’ annual community service projects collected nearly 400 coats between the two drives.

“Now that the cold weather is upon us, Catholic Charities is receiving a growing number of requests for assistance with warm winter coats,” said Michael Peters, Resource Exchange Coordinator for Catholic Charities. “We are grateful for the support from the Rotary Club of Goshen and the Rotary Club of Warwick. Their members’ commitment to fulfilling Rotary’s mission of ‘service before self’ is making a difference for community members who are facing challenges this winter.”

The assortment of new and gently used coats for both children and adults are being distributed by Catholic Charities’ staff to area individuals and families in need. Those seeking assistance with winter coats or other basic necessities should email Catholic Charities’ regional helpline at ccosuhelpline@cccsos.org.

Each year, the demand for children’s coats is greater than the supply. To make a monetary donation toward the purchase of new coats for children, contact Kristin Jensen at Kristin.Jensen@cccsos.org or 845.294.5124, x1005.
