Biden Appoints Local Brothers to Administration

WASHINGTON, DC – Two local brothers, who made history as the first two black brother to attend and graduate from West Point from Ulster County, continue to soar. Both have received appointments in the Bide-Harris administration.

On February 8th, President Biden appointed David E. White Jr. of Milton, NY as Deputy Associate Counsel at the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, where David will assist in recruiting senior leaders to serve in the executive branch. Prior to joining the White House, David served on the Biden-Harris Transition in the Office of General Counsel. After graduating from Harvard Law School with honors, David clerked for the Honorable Paul J. Watford of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and later practiced as an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York City. A graduate of West Point and a veteran of the War in Afghanistan, David is very excited to return to public service and assist President Biden in achieving his priorities.

On February 1st, President Biden appointed Daniel E. White of Milton, NY as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy, Plans and Capabilities at the U.S. Department of Defense. Dan previously served as a John S. McCain Strategic Defense Fellow with the U.S. Department of the Air Force, where he completed a rotation at the Space Division in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs. A graduate of West Point, Dan served in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer before transitioning to Columbia University’s School of Public International Affairs, where he earned a MPA in International Security Policy. Dan is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Modern War Institute at West Point.
