Draney Paces Marist At MAAC Championships

GALLOWAY, NJ – Senior captain James Draney led the Marist men’s cross country team with a 28th-place finish at Friday’s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, held at Seaview Golf Club.

Draney finished the 8K course in a time of 26:05.01. He was followed closely by sophomore Matthew Hartman (33rd), senior captain Graham Strzelecki (39th), freshman Chris Paxis (41st), sophomore Daniel Czop (49th), and sophomore Brendan Dearie (51st).

“Even though it wasn’t the outcome we wanted, the fact that we raced together in Marist uniforms is a huge win for us,” head coach Pete Colaizzo said.

As a team, the Red Foxes placed seventh, and were just five points out of fifth.
