Newburgh Free Library Says “Welcome Back!”

NEWBURGH – On March 15, 2021, the Newburgh Free Library has started to welcome visitors to enter the Main Library at 124 Grand Street for 30 minutes per day. In order to come into the library, temperature checks, health screening forms, and masks are mandatory prior to entering the Library as well as social distancing of 6 feet to be observed at all times. There will be a maximum occupancy of 8 visitors in a specific area of the library at one time and no restroom access at this time.

In addition, we are holding two drives to support our community in having access to literacy: Device Drive and Paperback Drive. For the Device Drive, we are accepting old mobile devices (tablet or phone) with AC Adapter charging cable. The devices need to be in working order, have no cracked screens, will need to be set back to factory settings. If you need help resetting your device, call Sue Scott at 845-563-3609 or e-mail suescott@rcls.org. The Device Drive will run from March 15th to April 30th. Drop them off at the Main Library on Grand Street or at the Newburgh Town Branch at the mall. Donations will be made to the Friends of the Newburgh Free Library and distributed to individuals in need of a device with e-mail.

For the Paperback Drive, the Main Library on Grand Street is accepting adult, small paperback fiction novels in good condition that will be given to local correctional facilities. Donations of less than 20 items can be placed into the book return. For donations over 20 items, please call 845-563-3605.
