Marist Cross Country Earns Academic Honors

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist women’s and men’s cross country teams, as well as senior Gianna Tedeschi, have been honored by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academics.

Tedeschi earned the individual honor by virtue of having at least a 3.25 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and her top-five finish at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship meet. She led the Red Foxes with a fourth-place finish in a time of 21:59.71 as she was named All-MAAC for the third time in her career. Tedeschi is a Biology major.

The women’s and men’s teams were both honored for having a team grade-point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The women’s team had a conference-best 21 MAAC All-Academic Team selections this year, while the men’s team had 12 selections this season.
