What’s “Really” Going On and Why it’s Happening

“Mothers, Mothers, Mothers, there’s far too many of you crying! Brothers, Sons, Nephews, Sisters, Daughters, and Nieces, there’s far too many of you dying.” Why? You are so often killed either by the police or by each other. This “Madness” has most definitely got to be stopped, for it is most definitely destroying our race! “Lord Have Mercy!”

What’s “Really” going on and most importantly, “Why” is this contiguously going on? Why are we, as a people, “Hating” each other the way that we do? Is it because of the way, during “Slavery”, we were trained to hate and disrespect each other? How many more days, months, and years are we, as a people, going to continue on in this madness? What is it really going to take for “Us” to “Wake Up” and how long will it be before we do so? How long? How long? How long? How many more lives are going to have to be snatched away before it is realized that “Black Lives Really Do Matter?”

Why, can’t we as a people, begin to understand why things are “Really” going on in the way that they are? In order for things to continue on in the way that they are, we, as a people, are going to have to be “continuously” hoodwinked by the powers that be, Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up! Stop believing their hype. Stop believing that “We” don’t matter! We matter to God, which is the most important one that matters. We are a very “Strong” and very “Gifted” people, therefore that is the “Major” reason why we are so resented. We are truly “Blessed” and it is about time that “We” start realizing that “Truth!”

We must take a “Serious” look into our mirrors and realize that “We” are truly a “Blessed” people and that we’ve come this far by “Faith!” It’s true that this journey has “Never” been an easy one, but we’ve still been able to keep pressing on, in spite of all that we have had to contend with and endure. We must “Never” give up, in spite of “All” of the horrible mess that we have had to contend with. Especially the way that so many of us have been mistreated and so many of our brother’s and sister’s lives being snatched away by policemen’s bullets, but let us not forget also those bullets that were shot by some of our very own. Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!

What is it going to take, for us as a people, to realize that we are a “Gifted” people? What is it going to take for us to realize that we “Need” one another? How long is it going to take for us to stop fighting one another and start supporting each other. How long is it going to take before we realize just how much that we truly need each other? How long? How long? How long? We have got to realize that we can no longer afford to allow ourselves to be so separated and divided. We have got to stop bickering and being envious and so jealous of one another. I should “Love” you and you should “Love” me, for that’s the way that our Heavenly Father planned for things to be.

Let us “Never” forget that God, our Heavenly Father, hears our cries, cares about what makes us hurt, and understands us and our situations. We can find comfort in the truth that God will never dismiss our grief as insignificant, for He knows just how much that we can bare. What we see going on throughout this country, as it pertains to so many of our lives being snatched away by a policeman’s bullet or by one of their knees being placed upon one of our necks, let us realize that this is why “We” need to put “All” of our differences aside and start “Standing” together. Never forget that us “Standing” together will enable us to keep moving forward, but divided we will “Never” be able to make it through this horrific storm that is presently in our midst and has been so since our forefather’s feet first stood on this land.

Truthfully, most of us do realize what’s going on and why it is “Really” going on. It is due to the fact that the powers that be really do not “Need” us any longer and our very presence is a “Constant” reminder to them of how depraved that their ancestors were towards another human being. “Lord Have Mercy!” Here are some words that should forever be lodged within our minds:

“The country’s image of the Negro, which hasn’t very much to do with the Negro, has never failed to reflect, with a kind of frightening accuracy, the state of mind of the country.” (James Baldwin)

“There are no good times to be Black in America, but some times are worse than others.” (David Bradley)

“America… insists upon seeing the world in terms of good and bad, the holy and the evil, the high and the low, the white and the black;…damning those whom it cannot understand, excluding those who look different, and salves its conscience with a self-draped cloak of righteousness.” (Richard Wright in American Hunger)

“(Race) locks white people in a morally and ethically indefensible position they must preserve by force… is rooted in the paradigm of race.” (John Edgar Wideman in Fatheralong)

Last, but most definitely not least, I was blown away watching the “Ruff Ryders” honoring the life of the rapper DMX. It was “Awesome” watching “All” of those motorcycles riding down that highway in honor of DMX. Hopefully, they will one day be riding here in our city, showing their support for our youth.

This is “Lillie’s Point of View” and I’m just having my say, now you can have yours. PEACE!
