Long Jump Record Broke at West Point Twilight

WEST POINT – The Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Track and Field team was back in action on Thursday evening at the West Point Twilight Meet. Senior Dabein Walker finished the night with a new school record in the Long Jump for the Knights.

Walker rounded out the evening with a victory in the Long Jump, posting a new school standard with a leap of 6.77 meters for the Knights. He clipped the previous mark of 6.73 meters set by Mount Saint Mary Hall of Famer Scott Colello in 2012. Walker closed out a strong night with a sixth place finish in the Triple Jump with a mark of 12.80 meters and a fifth place showing in the High Jump with a mark of 1.83 meters.

Mount Saint Mary also received solid showings on Thursday from Anthony Acosta and Kenneth Barrett. Acosta placed fourth for the Knights in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.39 meters while Barrett competed in the 1,500-meters for the Knights. The only Division III runner in the field, Barrett placed 17th in the event with a time of 4:46.22.
