Army Teams Claim Silver at ECAC/IC4A Track Championships

SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Army West Point men’s and women’s outdoor track and field team garnered runner-up honors in closing out the three-day ECAC/IC4A Championships Sunday afternoon.

The men posted 119 points and the women finished with 88 points.

Emily Mikoud, who won the discus (49.17m) and claimed second in the shot put (14.99m) and hammer throw (61.55m), was tabbed the ECAC Performer of the Meet.

The men’s 4×400-meter relay team of Calvin Wetzel, Elijah Bellamy, Luke Griner and Kevin Sembrat combined for a winning time of 3:10.90.

Wetzel also placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.08.

Kevin Sembrat took third in the 400m dash in 47.82 and Elijah Bellamy was sixth (48.57)

Deanna Ogrinc earned a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles in 1:01.84.

Holli Chapman was sixth in the 400m dash (55.93).

Leading the team in the field was Bonvie Fosam’s first place finish in the triple jump (12.69m) with Gabrielle Ingram (11.78) and Lindsey Smith (11.30) also ranking among the finishers.

Tyrese Bender took third in the triple jump (15.06m), rounding out Army’s top performances the final day.

Overall, the Black Knights claimed nine firsts with six in the field and three in the running events.
