NEW WINDSOR – Storm King Art Center is offering several free admission days this summer as well as a free round trip shuttle service for residents of the City of Newburgh. The shuttle will pick up and drop off visitors at the Newburgh Free Library (corner of Grand Street and 2nd Street). Upcoming free admission days are Monday, August 2, and Thursday, September 2. Tickets are required to board the shuttle and are available at stormking.org/SKFDtwo weeks prior to the scheduled free day.
Expect to spend the day outdoors walking among Storm King’s 500 acres of rolling meadows, hills, wooded areas, paved paths, and gravel paths. Check the weather before visiting—it may be hot! Strollers and wheelchairs can utilize both the paved and gravel paths. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring their own water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray.
There are more than 100 large-scale sculptures on view under open sky as well as special exhibitions, which are open to all visitors: Sarah Sze, Fallen Sky and Fifth Season, Rashid Johnson: The Crisis, and Outlooks: Martha Tuttle. The Outdoor Café will be open for online and walk-up purchases. The Bike Rental will be open for on-site rentals.
