New Rochelle Creates Director of Diversity

NEW ROCHELLE – In an effort to help achieve strategic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals, City Manager Charles B. Strome III recommended the creation of the position of Director of Diversity and Inclusion. The position was adopted unanimously by City Council on July 20.

This position will ensure that diverse groups of people, including those of different genders, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, religions, cultures, ages and people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills and expertise are well-represented.

“Our stated goal has always been that City Staff reflects the diversity of our community. This position will support and advance that value,” said City Manager Strome.

The position will be posted after August 1 on the City website www.newrochelleny.com
