Council Work Session and Meeting Relocated

NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh Council Work Sessions and Regular Council Meetings will be conducted in a hybrid format to allow members of the public to attend in-person or virtually. All meetings will continue to be livestreamed via Zoom videoconference, the City’s website, and Facebook pages, as well as recorded. Both the recording and a transcript will be made available at a later date.

Immediately following the conclusion of the Council Work Session on Thursday, October 21, 2021, the City Council is expected to convene an executive session to discuss matters pertaining to proposed, pending, or current litigation. Please note that the City Council Work Session on Thursday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. will be at City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550.

The regular City Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. has been relocated to the Activity Center at 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. During the meeting, the City Council will hear comments from the public concerning a Local Law adding Article III “Prohibition of Eviction without Good Cause”. The City Council will also hear comments concerning a Local Law authorizing a property tax levy in excess of the limit established in General Municipal Law Section 3-c.

Please fill out the required information (First Name, Last Name, e-mail Address). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the regular City Council meeting.

Members of the public who wish to comment on the agenda and general matters of City business, at the October 25 Council meeting may do so in-person at the Activities Center – 401 Washington Street. Alternatively, to join the regular meeting remotely on Monday, October 25, members of the public can register via Zoom by 4:00 p.m. on October 25.
