Marist Falls at Siena in Regular-Season Finale

LOUDONVILLE – The Marist volleyball team fell in five sets at Siena in its regular-season finale on Saturday. The Saints won 17-25, 25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 15-13.

Marist pulled away in the first set thanks to a 4-0 midway through. The Red Foxes then closed out the saints with three straight to close out the set.

Marist jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second set, but Siena tied it up with a 5-0 run at 10 all. With the set tied at 14 apiece, the Saints scored six straight, and led the rest of the set.
Siena never trailed in the third set. The Red Foxes tied it at 17 and then 19 apiece, but the Saints closed the set on a 6-1 run.

Marist closed out the fourth set with a 4-1 run, a stretch that included three kills from Gabriella Heimbauer.

Siena took the fifth set lead with a 5-0 run, but a 4-0 run gave Marist a 12-11 lead. With the scored tied at 12, the Saints took the final two points to win the match.
