Bussetti Breaks 48 Year Old School Record

BOSTON, MA – Competing in his first collegiate indoor track meet, freshman Lukas Bussetti broke a nearly 50-year-old school record, leading the Marist men’s track team at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University’s Track and Tennis Center on Saturday.

Bussetti placed sixth overall with a best jump of 6.87 meters (22 feet, 6.5 inches). This mark bettered the 1973 mark set by Tim Murphy of 6.78 meters (22 feet, 3 inches). This paced a day of many highlights for the men’s track team, with a bevy of personal-best performances in the following events:

60-meter dash: Jeremy Mooney, Lukas Bussetti, Jared Tomasetti
400-meter dash: Ryan Bahnsen, Easton Eberwein
800-meter run: Pat Beglane
Mile run: Tyler Perry, Aidan Pech, Thomas Dinsmore
3km: Christopher Paxis, Jon Kittredge
5km: Gabriel Rodriguez
4×400 relay: Team of Easton Eberwein, Ryan Bahnsen, Roshan Kalikasingh, Thomas Dinsmore
Pole vault: Noah Brown
60 hurdles: Noah Brown

The track team will resume its indoor track season in mid-January.
