Riddle Caps Impressive Season With Honor

DANBURY, CT – Mount Saint Mary College junior Grace Riddle, the 2021 Skyline Conference Player of the Year, picked up another postseason honor last Tuesday when she was named an ECAC All-Star in Women’s Volleyball.

Riddle had a big season for the Mount, finishing with 451 kills, 72 service aces, 324 digs and 27 total blocks. Riddle’s kill total set a new single season record for the Mount, eclipsing the previous mark set in 2007 by just a single winner. In addition to leading the team in kills, Riddle finished the season second on the squad in aces, digs and total blocks.

Riddle reached double-figures in kills on 24 occasions, including a stretch of 22 straight matches spanning from September 11 through a 13-kill performance on October 28. Riddle produced at least 20 winners in a match seven times, including a season-high 25 in a five-set victory at the College of Mount Saint Vincent on September 18. With 24 winners in a sweep of St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on October 14, Riddle set a new three set match record for kills, besting the previous mark of 21 set during the 2007 season.

Among the Skyline Conference leaders in 2021, Riddle closed the season as the league leader in total kills and kills per set (4.25). She finished up second in the conference in total service aces and fifth in total digs.

On the national stage, Riddle rounded out her impressive 2021 season ranked ninth nationally in both points and service aces per set, 11th in kills per set and 14th in total kills.

Mount Saint Mary finished the 2021 season with a 14-15 overall record and a 7-4 mark against Skyline Conference rivals.
