Second Workforce Development Summit Launched

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Free Library has launched a city-wide Workforce Development Summit to coordinate efforts to create a skilled and marketable workforce. The first summit on February 15th was an introduction to workforce development efforts in the city of Newburgh and convened over 30 local organizations in this important discussion.

The Workforce Development Summit II, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 19, and feature a keynote presentation by Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson. Assemblyman Jacobson will address the disconnect between training and industry efforts. He will share the work he is doing to ensure the pipeline works to address the needs of both job-seekers and employers.

This Summit is free and open to all, but registration is requested by April 15 to Laura Garcia, lgarcia@rcls.org. For further information call 845-563-3610. Event will be held in the 4th floor auditorium at the Newburgh Free Library at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please bring your organization materials and WDI documents to share.
