Barrett, Walker Have Set MSMC School Records

KINGS POINT – Kenneth Barrett and Dabein Walker each set a pair of school records on Sunday as the Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Track and Field team finished in third place at the 2022 Skyline Conference Championship.

Barrett set both of his school standards on the track, posting program records in both the 800-meters and the 1,500-meters. Barrett posted a time of 2:02.65 in the 800-meter race, narrowing beating the previous mark of 2:02.65 set in 2016. Barrett went on the clip his own previous record in the 1,500-meters in a second place finish in a time of 4:11.24.

Barrett closed out a strong day with a fourth place finish in the 5,000-meters.

Walker continued his stellar career in the field events at the Mount with victories and school records in the High and Triple Jumps to go along with a third place finish in the Javelin.

Walker edged the previous High Jump record of 1.88 meters with a mark of 1.90 meters, adding a new school record in the Triple Jump with a leap of 13.40 meters. Walker finished off a big day with a heave of 38.11 meters in the Javelin.

Jesse Hull won the Discus for the Knights with a heave of 30.48 meters and finished as the runner-up in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.00 meters. Andrew Maloy added a runner-up finish for the Knights in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 36.99 meters.

Mount Saint Mary continues the Outdoor Season on Thursday when it takes part in the Army West Point Twilight Meet.
