Marist Track & Field Finishes Strong at Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Led by several first-place finishes, the Marist men’s track team placed third out of 17 scoring teams at the Rider Invitational, held Saturday at Rider. The Red Foxes scored 92 points and trailed only MAAC rivals Rider and Manhattan.

The sprinters led the scoring barrage, with Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne taking first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Captain Jeremy Mooney was second in the 200 and fourth in the 100, posting an IC4A qualifier in the 100 with a personal-best time of 10.89 seconds.

The 400-meter relay team of Roman Katona, Leonard-Osbourne, Jared Tomasetti and Mooney took first place in an IC4A qualifying mark of 41.99 seconds.

Daniel Czop took first place and captain Patrick Kutch took third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, both notching personal-best times.

In the 1,500-meter run, Christopher Paxis, Tyler Perry, Aidan Pech and Aidan Sweeney all notched personal-best times.

That same foursome came back and got second place in the 3,200-meter relay.

Noah Brown took second in the pole vault competition.

The men’s track team returns to action this coming week at Penn Relays and the Yale Springtime Invitational.
