Ulster County Comptroller March Gallagher issued the following statement on the County Executive Position:
“Today, I am announcing that if Pat Ryan goes to Washington creating a vacancy in the County Executive’s office, I intend to seek the office. Pat Ryan will make an excellent Congressional representative. His many accomplishments as Executive bring vital experience and understanding to Congress to solve problems and help the people of this district. Pat Ryan is a leader who will protect our democracy and our values in Washington.
“Since taking office as County Comptroller, I have worked with the County Executive and Legislature implementing important changes such as automatic Airbnb tax collection, savings at the jail, modernization of the property auction, and daylighting County finances. By shining a light and following the money we’ve been able to create millions in savings and revenue enhancements for the people of Ulster County.
“If elected, I will build on my experience and successes as County Comptroller to continue Pat’s good work here in Ulster. This has been a year of many changes and no matter who is in which office, we need to continue our commitment to making Ulster county the best place for people to live, work, and thrive.”
