Small Business Bootcamp Graduation Ceremony

NEWBURGH – On June 16, 2022, the City of Newburgh, the Newburgh Free Library, the Small Business Development Center (“SBDC”), and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the graduation of the Spring, 2022 Small Business Bootcamp attendees during an outdoor ceremony in front of the Newburgh Free Library.

The Spring, 2022 Small Business Bootcamp graduates participated in a free of charge, 6-Session, on-line series of small business workshops, designed to provide City of Newburgh entrepreneurs (and aspiring entrepreneurs) with business resources needed to start or enhance an existing business.

“Perfect Sweets” and the “Silk Factory,” two small businesses located in the City of Newburgh, were present for the ceremony and provided graduates and guests with treats and beverages.

City of Newburgh Councilman Anthony Grice, who spoke to the graduates during the ceremony notes “As the grandson, son, brother, and husband to small business owners, I understand the passion and struggles that small business owners have for their business.

That is part of why I am a proud supporter of this opportunity, the Small Business Association, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, and other groups that are available to help small businesses.”

Ellen Fillo, Director of Community Development for the City of Newburgh said, “The City of Newburgh is committed to providing small business resource workshops to the small business community in the City of Newburgh. Through our strong partnership with the SBA, the Newburgh Free Library, the SBDC, and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, we are able to offer small businesses the tools they need to thrive.”

The City of Newburgh Small Business Bootcamp program, now in its second year, is presented through the Co-Sponsorship Agreement between the Small Business Administration (“SBA”) and City of Newburgh, the Newburgh Free Library, the SBDC, and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

The next City of Newburgh Small Business Bootcamp is planned for the Fall, 2022.
