NEW ROCHELLE – The City School District of New Rochelle (CSDNR) is pleased to announce that Gail Joyner, a seasoned educator with more than 32 years of experience, has been named Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services. The Board of Education approved Ms. Joyner’s hiring at its August meeting.
“Gail has devoted her adult life to educating, developing, and nurturing the whole child, and brings a commitment to work collaboratively to create a supportive environment where our students can thrive and grow,” said Superintendent Jonathan P. Raymond. “Supporting our students’ and families’ well-being is more important than ever, and I know Gail will be a transformational leader who will connect with our families and community to achieve our shared goal of helping all our students be successful and achieve their goals and dreams.”
Ms. Joyner began her career as an English teacher and comes to the City School District of New Rochelle from Yonkers Early Childhood Academy and Cross Hill Academy, where she was a principal for the past 18 years. She looks forward to applying her experience to supporting our building principals, staff, students, and families.
“I am honored to be chosen to be part of the New Rochelle team,” said Ms. Joyner. “It is incumbent upon all of us who are privileged to serve as leaders to open pathways and provide supports to our students to explore new ideas, develop new skills, and become the leaders of tomorrow. My goal in New Rochelle is to provide leadership that helps our students use their voices to become their best advocates and achieve their highest potential.”
