Marist Red Foxes Volleyball Takes Down Siena

LOUDONVILLE – The Marist volleyball team swept Siena in three sets on Saturday as the Red Foxes won their fourth straight match.

Marist was able to cap of the road victory by scores of 26-24, 25-16, 25-20.

Marist scored four of the final five points to take set one.

Marist led set two wire-to-wire. The Red Foxes scored the first four points of the set and never trailed.

Marist trailed 15-10 in the third set, but took control with a 12-3 run, as the Red Foxes prevailed 25-20 to close out the match.

Sasha van der Merwe led Marist with 10 kills, followed by Gabrielle Heller with nine and

Jordan Newblatt with seven. Heller had a team-best 10 digs.

Newblatt and Alyssa White had a team-best five blocks apiece. White had kills on all three swings she took.

Marist is now 16-10 overall and 12-4 in the MAAC, which is good for sole possession of second place.

The Red Foxes will travel to Niagara Falls, NY to take on Niagara on Saturday, Nov 12 at noon.

Marist will then close out the regular season at Canisius the following day.
