Raptors Fall to Penn State-Berks at Elmira

ELMIRA – The Bard College men’s basketball team lost to Penn State-Berks, 88-72, on the second day of the Elmira College Alumni Classic on Saturday.

The Raptors cut an 11-point halftime deficit to four in the second half, but they coudn’t get closer.

“Today was a good learning experience for us,” Bard coach Michael Lenahan said, “about what it takes to consistently win on the college level. We need to play to our standards for 40 minutes. We couldn’t do that today, but we will use this to get better.”

Bard got 14 points and five rebounds from Elliot Harris; Azriel Almodovar added nine points, four rebounds and three assists.

“We showed flashes this weekend of how good we are capable of being,” Lenahan said, “and we will keep working to get there.”

The Raptors next host Mount St. Mary on Friday as part of the Hudson Valley Classic.
