Bucknell Comes Back to Defeat Marist 24-13

LEWISBURG, PA – The Marist football team dropped its season finale at Bucknell on Saturday by a score of 24-13. The Bison scored 21 unanswered points in the second half.

Tyhir Harley intercepted a pass to end the game’s opening drive, which set Marist up at the Bucknell 42.

Amin Woods scored a 14-yard rushing touchdown on the ensuing drive. Woods had a touch on all five plays of the drive, with four runs and a reception.

Matt Schearer’s 31-yard field goal cut Marist’s lead to 7-3 with 1:51 left in the second quarter.

With 5:49 left in the second quarter, Camron Ball broke up a pass on fourth-and-one from the Bucknell 46. On Marist’s ensuing drive, the Red Foxes converted two fourth downs. The second came on fourth-and-one from the Bucknell 27, when Woods burst through for his second touchdown of the game.

Marist took a 13-3 lead into halftime.

On fourth-and-goal, Nick Semptimphelter’s two-yard touchdown pass to Rushawn Baker and the ensuing PAT cut Marist’s lead to 13-10 with 5:02 left in the third quarter.

Semptimphelter’s 10-yard rushing touchdown with 12:04 left in the fourth quarter put Bucknell up for good.

Baker’s six-yard rushing touchdown with 2:03 to play was the game’s final score.

Marist’s season wrapped up at 4-7.
