Marist Women Prevail Over North Florida

DUBLIN, IRELAND – To close out the MAAC/ASUN Dublin Basketball Challenge, Marist women’s basketball defeated North Florida by a score of 61-45. The Red Foxes had a strong first half to hold the advantage over North Florida in the non-conference matchup.

The scoring began with Kendall Krick, giving the Red Foxes their first lead of the game.
The Red Foxes started building their lead, pulling ahead 11-7. North Florida would cut the lead down to a point two times and tie the game at 13 apiece.

The Red Foxes offense took off, extending their lead 19-13 to end the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Red Foxes would go on a 15-2 run lasting 7:25. North Florida committed nine turnovers during the Red Foxes scoring run.

To close out the first half, the Red Foxes took their largest lead in the half with 22 points.

Leading the Osprey 39-17 heading into the third quarter. Marist held North Florida to just four points in the second quarter.

Scoreless in the first minute of the third quarter, Maeve Donnelly scored the first point of the second half from a free throw.

The Red Foxes defense was a key factor to the third and fourth quarter success. North Florida shot .111 percentage from behind the arc and .278 percent from the field.

North Florida outscored Marist in the fourth quarter 17-9. The Red Foxes held onto their lead to defeat North Florida 61-45.
