Marist Men’s Basketball Stifles Columbia With 52-39 Win

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist men’s basketball team earned a 52-39 home victory over Columbia in a non-conference game on Monday at McCann Arena.

The victory was the Red Foxes’ second straight.

Marist scored the first 13 points of the game, as Columbia was held scoreless for the first 10:55. The Lions missed their first 17 shots from the field, and were held without a field goal for the first 14:10.

Marist took a 22-10 lead into halftime.

Columbia cut Marist’s lead to nine on two occasions in the first four minutes of the second half.

Marist used a 10-0 run, which included five points apiece from Kam Farris and Jaden Daughtry, to extend its lead to a game-high 20 with 10:05 left. The Red Foxes led by double figures the rest of the way.

Marist is now 6-0 all-time against Columbia in Poughkeepsie, and 8-2 overall.

Marist will play in London, England as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame London Showcase.

The Red Foxes will take on Maine on Sunday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
