Marist Women’s Basketball Opens Conference

NIAGARA FALLS – The Marist women’s basketball team took down the Niagara Purple Eagles for a win in its conference opener. The Red Foxes defeated the Purple Eagles by a score of 63-55.

The Red Foxes opened the game with a 6-0 lead from back-to-back three pointers from Kiara Fisher and Julianna Bonilla.

At the end of the first quarter, the Red Foxes led 20-18.

Marist shot .444 from the field and .400 from behind the arc in the second quarter.

The Purple Eagles shot 2-for-11 from behind the arc in the first half.

Opening the third quarter, an 8-0 scoring run for the Red Foxes enabled them to take the lead over the Purple Eagles.

In the third quarter, the Red Foxes shot .667 from the field and .667 from three.

Six straight points from the Julianna Bonilla to give the Red Foxes a seven-point lead with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Marist defeated Niagara by a score of 63-55.
