NEW WINDSOR – Former Orange County Legislator Chris Eachus was sworn in on Sunday as the new state assemblyman from the 99th District of Eastern Orange County.
Eachus is a retired science teacher in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
New Windsor Town Justice George Meyers Jr. administered the oath to the new Democratic lawmaker who defeated his Republican opponent Katherine Luciani by only eight votes.
After ballot counts and recounts Eachus was declared the winner only just in December.
