Mike Lawler Holds His Ceremonial Inauguration

POMONA – Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) held a ceremonial inauguration attended by hundreds of residents and elected officials from New York’s 17th Congressional District on Sunday, January 15th. He released the following statement after the ceremony:

“It is the honor of my lifetime to serve the residents of New York’s 17th Congressional District and today I joined hundreds of my constituents for my ceremonial inauguration. I promised that we would hit the ground running and we certainly have. In just two short weeks in Washington, we’ve gotten to work on lowering costs, making America energy independent, supporting law enforcement, and taking on our foreign adversaries,” said Rep. Lawler. “I’m also proud to have introduced my first piece of legislation, which would double the SALT deduction for married couples in the Hudson Valley, providing critical relief for families in New York’s 17th District.”

“Together, we are going to address the pressing issues facing Hudson Valley families – cost-of-living, crime, and the need for more commonsense. By working with my colleagues in Congress on both sides of the aisle, I am confident that we can overcome the challenges we face,” continued Rep. Lawler. “The people of the 17th District have placed their trust in me, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that I deliver on what I was elected to do.”
