Local High School CTE Students Visit Pfizer

PEAR RIVER – Students from the Careers in Health course at Mount Vernon High School along with Kool Nerd Connect, visited Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, located in Pearl River on Thursday, February 9, 2023. These students learned about the many opportunities and job avenues available to them within the industry.

“The trip to Pfizer was an amazing opportunity for the Careers in Health students,” said Careers in Health Teacher, Bonnie Ball. “We were not only able to learn about various careers, but also how personal protective equipment (PPE) is used in the pharmaceutical industry.”

There were Pfizer representatives from all different fields there to talk and network with students. Some were scientists that worked on the Covid-19 vaccine and even the vice president of sales was there. All the Pfizer employees were people of color, and some were members of the Global Black Community organization, one of many affinity groups that Pfizer offers.
