Bard Women’s Track And Field Continues Growth at Cortland

CORTLAND – The Bard women’s track and field team participated in the Cortland Upstate Alternative as the team continues to work toward the Liberty League Championships in early May.

The team continued to set PRs as the student-athletes continued to race in a variety of different events.

The Raptors had four competitors in the 100m and seven in the 200m, showing the team’s growth this season under head coach Billy Poole-Harris. Among the strong performances was senior Sophia Tighe, who set a PR in the 200m and finished just ahead of teammate Jynaiya Grizzle in both the 100m and 200m. Several others ran PR times under wind-aided conditions, and Martha Gomez also set a PR in the discus throw.

Bard will be at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. next weekend. The Liberty League Championships take place in Rochester on May 5 and 6.
