Marist Baseball Falls On Senior Day To Fairfield

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist baseball team fell in the senior day celebration to Fairfield. The Red Foxes dropped the second game of the series to the Stags 19-7.

Marist jumped out to an early first inning lead courtesy of a Niko Amory RBI double.

Bayram Hot scored the run for the Red Foxes.

Fairfield took the lead in the second inning with three runs in the top-half of the frame.

In the bottom of the second, the Red Foxes struck back and evened the score at 3-3. Colin Mackle brought home a run on a sacrifice fly and Dylan Hoy roped an RBI double.

Fairfield took a commanding 10-3 lead in the third inning, scoring seven runs in the frame.

The Stags continued to score nine more runs throughout the game against the Red Foxes.

Marco Ali hit a home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to cut into the Fairfield lead.

In the ninth inning, the Red Foxes tried to close the gap with three runs. Danny Moshier hit a two-run single for the Red Foxes, cutting the deficit to 19-6. Nathan Lincoln brought home a run on a balk, which gave the Red Foxes seven runs.

The Red Foxes fell 19-7 to Fairfield.
