POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist baseball team finished the 2023 regular season against Canisius, Friday afternoon. The Red Foxes won the first two games of the series, but fell in the finale 11-2.
Canisius took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning on three hits and an error.
Justin Kapuscinski started the second inning for the Red Foxes with a home run. With two outs in the inning, Colin Mackle ripped an RBI double to right field. The Red Foxes cut into the Canisius lead 3-2 after two.
Canisius added to its lead with one run in the fourth inning (4-2).
In the sixth inning, Canisius extended its lead to 6-2 on two runs in the inning.
Canisius added five runs to its lead in the ninth inning, which extended the lead to 11-2.
The Red Foxes fell 11-2.
