Artists Talks by Oaxacan Photographer Eric Mindling

Prize winning photographer, Eric Mindling, will give three talks this week about his artistic process and what he learned from photographing villagers in Oaxaca, Mexico during his 25 years living there.

The free talks in English and Spanish, part of Oaxaca Week 2023, will take place in the following locations:

* Saturday, July 29 from 1 to 3:30 pm as part of A Taste of Oaxaca, a program presented at the Mid Hudson Library System Auditorium, 103 Market Street

* Sunday, July 30 from 2 to 4 pm at Greig Farm, 227 Pitcher Lane, Red Hook

* Monday, July 31 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at CONVEY/er/or Gallery, 299 Main Street, Poughkeepsie

Mindling’s portraits are currently on display at the CONVEY/er/or Gallery until August 10th from noon to 4 pm Mondays-Fridays.

Other photographs will be shown at Grieg Farm from July 25-30 from 10 am to 6 pm.
Mindling’s book Oaxaca Stories in Cloth will be for sale on July 29 and 31 after his talks.
Currently living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mindling is making his first visit to the Hudson Valley. His visit is co-sponsored by Arts Mid-Hudson, the Poughkeepsie Public Library District, Fidelis Health and Steel Imaginations.
