NEW PALTZ – State University of New York at New Paltz Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation Renee Bostic was appointed as a member of the NCAA Division III Championship Committee effective August 1 through January 22, 2028.
The Championships Committee handles the oversight of Division III’s championships and supervises the Division III championships qualification and selection process, reviews recommendations from sports committees regarding the administration of those championships, while also reviewing other issues relating to the administration of championship events.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to participate in the committee and be a part of the NCAA governance body and provide SUNY New Paltz with a voice on the national stage,” Bostic said.
Recently severing on the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics, which provides leadership and assistance to the association for all levels of the NCAA, Bostic aided in expanding and promoting opportunities for all female student-athletes, administrators, coaches and officiating personnel. Her role within the CWA she said will serve useful as she resumes her new role within the Division III Championship Committee.
“Having prior NCAA committee experience will be helpful,” Bostic said. “I’m thankful for my service with CWA because I think it will give me a good mindset prior to it.”
Bostic is no stranger to additional service to the NCAA and respective governing bodies, as she was an NCAA facilitator for the GameDay the DIII Way and the OneTeam programs, and in 2021 was elected as one of the five members of the Women’s Leaders in College Sports Board of Directors and Nominating Committee.
