Mount Duo Fly Out of the Gate to Start the Season

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Vassar Brewers hosted the fall season’s first cross country meet of the year. The weather was perfect for the first run of the fall. The men competed in the 4K, where the women competed in the 3K.

Christopher Christiano lead the men’s team with a finish of 13:54.2 and was followed by his teammates Joseph Carmona (15:32.2), and Greg Casale (15:35.0).

“Awesome job by Chris Christiano tonight leading our mens team, Freshman Joe Carmona was also solid tonight in his first college race” Said Coach Callo after the race.

Sarah Kannenberg lead the women with a finish of 13:37.1, and her teammate Lily O’Brien finished 14:48.6.

Coach Callo went on to say, “ “Nice race by our women’s team tonight to kick off the season, Sarah lead our women’s team. Our runners did a great job of working together over a very fast course.”

The next meet for both teams will be Sunday, September 10th at 10 AM in Milton, New York. The Knights will host the Yeshiva Maccabees, at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome.
