Mainiero Wins First Women’s Tennis Match

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – Rained out of their first match, the Mount Saint Mary College Women’s tennis team opened their season on their road versus Bard College. Mother Nature didn’t exactly cooperate for this match either.

Angelina Mainiero won her singles match in two sets and Peyton Curley almost pulled off a win in a tie-breaker third set. The remainder of the matches didn’t go the way of the knights, but Coach Yancy Butler said this of his first match as the Knights Head Coach:
“I am proud of the way the women fought through the conditions, and battled. It was a lot of the players first match ever and to almost come out with two match wins is a testament to the work they’ve done the last few weeks, looking forward to seeing what they can do Tuesday.”
