Ryan to Hold Central Hudson Workshop

NEWBURGH – Congressman Pat Ryan announced the next workshop in his Central Hudson Workshop Series will be held on Thursday, September 28th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Larkin Center at the Newburgh Armory. Central Hudson employees will join members of Congressman Ryan’s district office to help with individual customer complaints in one-on-one meetings, including problems with meter reading and estimated billing. Customers can reserve appointments using this form. September’s workshop continues Congressman Ryan’s successful Central Hudson Workshop Series that has taken palace over the previous months.

“From day one, I’ve been fighting to hold Central Hudson accountable. Now that they have committed to fixing all billing errors, we’re working and pushing to make that happen as quickly as possible for every single person,” said Congressman Ryan. “These one-on-one sessions are critical to providing relief, and I will keep advocating on behalf of Hudson Valley families until everyone impacted is made whole.”

“I jumped at the chance to meet with a Central Hudson representation after spending months last winter trying to get help with a billing issue,” said Kathy Drew, New Paltz resident and attendee of the June workshop. “They were completely professional, answered my questions, took responsibility for the problems I experienced with Central Hudson and followed-up with an email a few hours after our meeting. Thank you to the Office of Representative Patrick Ryan for arranging these one-on-one sessions. I hope our U.S. representatives in New York State continue to hold Central Hudson management accountable for inaction, inconsideration and lack of communication with Poughkeepsie and New Paltz customers.”

The workshop will build on Congressman. Ryan’s commitment to host Central Hudson workshops across New York’s 18th Congressional District and his record of holding Central Hudson accountable for its billing practices. When the Newburgh Workshop reaches capacity, additional customers can sign up for the waitlist using a form.

The New York State Public Service Commission is holding hearings this month regarding Central Hudson’s proposed utility rate hikes. In August, an independent monitor was appointed in an effort to hold Central Hudson accountable on their promise to fix their billing failures. In January, Central Hudson replaced its CEO following Congressman Ryan’s calls for his resignation on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
