Ulster Men’s Soccer Tie Against Kingsborough

BROOKLYN – Prior to their trip to Brooklyn, the Senators moved up to #8 in this week’s national poll after being #10 last week. They looked to continue their momentum on the road and got off to a good start when Ashaasea Sankofa took a pass from Imari Harris and floated one over the keeper to give Ulster a 1-0 lead in the 18th min. Kingsborough would answer back in the 35th min to tie the game 1-1 where it stayed until halftime. Ulster controlled most of the play in the second half, but Kingsborough found the go ahead goal in the 74th, putting the home side up 2-1. The Senators continued to control play and push numbers forward. In the 80th min, Renzo Scanu found space on the right wing and his pass found Sankofa who fired it in the back of the net to tie the game 2-2. Ulster continued to create chances over the last ten minutes, but couldn’t find the winner. The game would end 2-2. Ashassea Sankofa (Salesian) continued his hot play, scoring 5 goals in his last two games. Ulster goalkeeper Cody Baker made 3 saves on the day. Ulster are now 7-1-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
