Mount Saint Mary College Wins Three Over Old Westbury

NEWBURGH – The Knights hosted The College at Old Westbury in their fourth Skyline conference game.

The Knights wasted no time establishing their dominance in the first set. Old Westbury struggled to find their rhythm, making several errors that the Knights capitalized on. The first set ended with a convincing 25-7 win for Mount Saint Mary, setting the tone for the evening.

Old Westbury, demonstrated remarkable resilience in the second set. They fought back from being down early only to drop the set 25-18. Nevertheless, Mount Saint Mary’s consistency from their front three got the job done and the Knights were up 2-0.

In the final set, Mount Saint Mary displayed their depth and capacity to close out matches efficiently. They maintained control throughout the game, ultimately securing the set and the match with a 25-20 score.

– Erin Lema, with seven kills and eleven points

– Jonaiya Williams contributed seven kills and 8.5 points

– Aubriana Boyce demonstrated her playmaking skills, recording 11 assists and contributing 3 points to the Knights’ total.

The Mount Saint Mary College Women’s Volleyball team’s performance was nothing short of impressive as they secured a resounding victory over Old Westbury. With a final score of 3-0 in sets, the Knights showcased their skill, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to success. This victory improved their Skyline Conference record to 2-2 and their overall record to 2-15, providing them with a much-needed confidence boost as they continue their journey in the season.

The Knights have earned a well-deserved victory, and the team undoubtedly aims to build on this success as they progress further in the highly competitive Skyline Conference.
