POUGHKEEPSIE – With more than 1,000 affiliates in the U.S. and approximately 70 country programs around the world, Habitat for Humanity is known for its work globally and locally in providing First Time Homeownership opportunities and preserving homeownership through its Critical Home Repair Programs. As part of their ongoing efforts to provide safe and financially sustainable houses to the community, Habitat Dutchess hosted Groundbreaking and Home Dedication Ceremonies throughout the year. These events introduce future Homebuyers, Subcontractors, and Volunteers to the amazing communities that make Dutchess County shine.
On October 18th Habitat Dutchess hosted the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the newest construction project on Marshall St. By giving a “hand up, not a hand out” they are engaging people in their own housing solutions and involving the community in construction projects that allow them to grow their ability to build a better future.
“Habitat for Humanity is a partnership. Habitat’s homeowner families buy the houses that Habitat builds and renovates with a financially sustainable mortgage. Community financial support will help families continue building with Habitat in your community and around the world,” said Maureen Brennan Lashlee, CEO.
Habitat invites you to help them build brighter futures in partnership with their future homebuyers who are in need of a financially sustainable place to call home. They also invite you to inspire others to help create more first-time homeownership opportunities.
