Marist Red Foxes Football Falls to Drake

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist football team fell at home to Drake by a score of 10-3 in a Pioneer Football League game on Saturday at Tenney Stadium.

After a scoreless first quarter, Drake struck first on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Luke Bailey to Trey Radocha at the 13:06 mark of the second period.

Drake had the ball inside the Marist 1 late in the first half, but a fumbled snap led to a recovery by Kyle Coffindaffer. The score remained 7-0 in favor of Drake at halftime.

Chase Gardi’s 22-yard field goal got Marist on the scoreboard with 4:06 left in the third quarter. The field goal capped a 17-play, 81-yard drive.

Shane Dunning’s 53-yard field goal gave Drake a 10-3 lead with 7:44 left in the fourth quarter.

Marist reached the Drake 2 in the final minutes, but the Red Foxes were unable to come away with any points.

Marist is 4-5 this season and 4-3 in league play.

Marist concludes PFL play and the road part of its schedule on Saturday, November 11 at Dayton.
