Scholar-Athletes Sign National Intent Letters

NEWBURGH – Four scholar-athletes from Newburgh Free Academy signed their letters to commit to play for Division I & II schools as part of the National Letter of Intent day that occurs each year across the country. Student athletes were recognized and celebrated by their coaches, family members, friends, teammates, and guests.

Scholar-athletes included:
Julia Leonard (Girls Soccer) committed to study with and compete for: Manhattan College (DI)

Marina Parodo (Girls Soccer) committed to study with and compete for: Sacred Heart University (DI)

Taryn Judson (Softball) committed to study with and compete for: College of Staten Island (DII)

Mark Yan (Boys Golf) committed to study with and compete for: University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) (DII)

The NFA Girls Soccer team is coached by Head Coach Dave Doulin and Assistant Coach Jennifer Grogan.

The NFA Boys Golf team is coached by Head Coach Dave Doulin.

The NFA Softball team is coached by Chris Leggett and Katie Mineo.

Student athletes who commit to study and compete for a college or university after the official signing day will be celebrated in the spring.
