Marist Red Foxes Basketball Falls to Lehigh

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist men’s basketball team suffered a 65-58 loss to Lehigh in a non-conference game at McCann Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Jaden Daughtry scored the game’s first five points on a jumper and three-point play in the first 1:09.

A 9-0 run enabled Lehigh to take its first lead.

The Mountain Hawks extended their lead to six with 5:26 left in the first half, but Jackson Price answered with back-to-back threes to tie the game at 25.

Marist closed the half on an 8-0 run, which included back-to-back three-pointers by Josh Pascarelli, and took a 33-29 lead to the locker room.

Lehigh reclaimed the lead by scoring the first five points of the second half.

The lead changed hands four times in the first 7:37 of the second half.

Marist took back the lead thanks to a 7-0 run, which included two conventional three-point plays by Pascarelli. The Red Foxes were up 48-43 at the midway point of the second half.

Each team reclaimed the lead with a 5-0 spurt over the next five minutes.

With 1:11 to play, Jadin Collins gave Marist a 58-57 lead by splitting a pair of free throws.

However, Lehigh answered by scoring the game’s final eight points.
