BRONXVILLE – The Mount Saint Mary College Knights (9-5, 8-1 Skyline) continued their impressive conference run with a resounding 73-26 victory over the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons (5-9, 5-4 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon at Campbell Sports Center. Head Coach Marion Dietz praised her team’s defensive effort, stating, “Great defensive energy for the entire game, which helped us get going offensively. Great contributions from everyone in a game on the road with a shortened bench.”
From the opening tip, the Knights established a defensive stranglehold on the Gryphons, holding them to single-digit points in each quarter. The relentless pressure fueled their offense, led by Charlotte Twohig’s game-high 21 points, including four three-pointers.
Casey Love chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Brianna Guglielmo and Ciarra Quinn each contributed 11 points of their own.
Sarah Lawrence struggled to find offensive rhythm against the Knights’ swarming defense, managing only 10 field goals the entire game.
The Knights’ balanced scoring attack and stifling defense proved too much for the Gryphons to overcome. The victory extends their winning streak to four games and keeps them firmly atop the Skyline Conference standings.
“We’re really happy with our performance today,” Coach Dietz said. “We came out with a lot of energy and executed our game plan well. Our defense was outstanding, and we were able to share the ball offensively. It was a great team effort.”
