Poughkeepsie Extends Block Grant Application

POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie has extended its 2024 Community Development Block Grant application, which is available on the city’s website. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded formula-based grant allocated to eligible cities by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The grant provides funds to improve the quality-of-life of residents through the planning and development of municipal infrastructure and public amenities. This grant award allows the city to carry out a wide range of community development activities directed towards program administration, city infrastructure, demolition and revitalization of city neighborhoods, rehabilitation of existing housing, homelessness, homeless prevention, youth services, health services, economic development, and providing community facilities and services.

Applicants should review the Policies and Procedures on the City’s website prior to completing the application. It is recommended that all potential applicants contact the Division of Social Development regarding eligibility questions.
