NEWBURGH – The Mount Saint Mary College men’s basketball team (6-17, 4-10 Skyline) secured a gritty 64-59 victory over The College at Old Westbury (1-22, 1-13 Skyline) on Tuesday afternoon at the Kaplan Recreation Center.

Head coach Ryan Kadlubowski acknowledged the team’s struggles but praised their effort, saying, “Good grind out win, we didn’t look pretty but I am very proud of how we were able to pull out the win and show our alumni the team is in good hands.” The game was in the Mounts control almost the entire game. From the first tip the Knights had the lead and held it through the first half and almost the entire second half. MSMC would get a strong lead and the panthers would pull the score back only to have the Knights goi on another run. It was a nailbitter at the end when the Panthers took the lead with under a minute to go. But Elijah Barnett made six crucial free throws at the end of the game to secure the win.
