Mount’s Black Student Union Celebrates

NEWBURGH – Mount Saint Mary College’s Black Student Union (BSU) and Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), teamed up to host a Black History Month celebration in front of The View dining hall on Monday, February 19th.

Students earned t-shirts by answering trivia questions, enjoyed free food, learned about the BSU and Black History Month, and more.

Jenifer Lee-Gonyea, assistant vice president of DEI and Chief Diversity Officer at the Mount, notes that the DEI office is working to foster a thriving culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to benefit everyone in the Mount community. Lee-Gonyea has been a respected member of the Mount community since 2008.
