New Assistant Superintendent of Business

MOUNT VERNON – Ms. Sandra C. Myke, the Mount Vernon City School District’s new Assistant Superintendent of Business, brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has worked in finance and accounting for over three decades and has years of knowledge and experience that have prepared her well to lead the Business Office. She started in the position in February 2024.

She began her career in the financial industry in 1986 with an accounting role at IBM. She then worked at Texaco Corporation in financial reporting. She also worked as a manager of marketing analysis for Trilegiant Corporation, a travel, shopping, entertainment and consumer protection services company.

Ms. Myke has worked in school finances from 2002 to present. Starting as an internal auditor as well as managing a $100M capital project venture for the Mount Vernon City School District. She was an interim school business official in Elmsford in 2008. Most recently, she was a school business administrator at the Mount Pleasant-Blythedale Union Free School District.

“I am most looking forward to ensuring that the District becomes more fiscally sound in terms of having enough funds to support the educational programs,” said Ms. Myke. “I also want to ensure that the people I lead have a sense of accountability, pride and ownership in their work.”
