Schoenegge Shatters 5000-Meters Record

LEWISBURG, PA – The Vassar College Women’s Track and Field traveled to Bucknell University on Saturday for the Bison Outdoor Classic as the Brewers scored numerous personal bests in distance races and first year Haley Schoenegge broke the 5000-meters school record by nine seconds.

1500 Meters
First year Norah Reade was the eighth place Division III finisher along with finishing second in heat two and 36th overall with a personal-best time of 4:53.77.

First year Addie Nyhan was victorious in heat one and finished 75th overall with a new season-best time of 4:58.92.

3000 Meter Steeplechase
First year Acadia Helfand recorded a 38th place finish with a time of 12:18.47.

5000 Meters (Unseeded)
Sophomore Anika Mueller-Hickler earned a 28th place finish in a personal-best time of 18:21.88 while senior Amaavi Miriyagalla posted a career-best time of 19:23.18.

Sophomore Nora Goldberg-Courtney finished in a time of 19:48.57 followed by first year Cayley Swaim tallying a time of 19:54.04.

5000 Meters (Invite)
Schoenegge shattered the school record in the 5000-meters with a time of 16:32.59 for a third place finish among Division I competition and broke the record of Aubree Piepmeier’s time of 16:41.93 in 2014.
